Presentation Title:
“An Overview of Successful Shoots from a 30 Year Studio Owner”
In 1988, after studying at the Art Institute of Atlanta, John Haigwood decided to turn his passion for photography and videography into a career and founded Haigwood Studios. In 2000, he moved his studio to historic Roswell at 565 South Atlanta Street, where he has been fortunate to develop a
portfolio working with companies such as Home Depot, Chick-fil-A, Coca Cola, Medtronic, Avanos, Ecolab, Lowe’s, WSB-TV, and hundreds of others.
Throughout his career, he has focused on mastery of subject, composition, and the subtleties of light and color. Since childhood, he has been a visual thinker, noticing details others miss, and his father impressed upon him the importance of dedication to excellence.
John was the first photographer in Georgia to go digital and has remained at the forefront of technology throughout his career. Some of his proudest moments were being chosen by the White House to photograph their delegation for the Trans-Pacific Partnership. He has covered events such as the Super Bowl, the 1996 Olympics, and the Masters Tournament.
Recently, he had his first documentary, Story to Story with Shannon, published on Tubi, and he has created commercials for local Atlanta restaurants such as Willy’s Mexicana Grill and Kyma.
HAIGWOOD STUDIOS
Some of his favorite projects are working with medical device companies and architecture throughout the United States. The studio is a one-stop shop where clients can get videography, photography, set construction, models, AV, drone, and locations—it is a full-scale production company. A fun fact:
John has taken over 25,000 corporate headshots. He loves the confidence he sees in his clients when they look at their headshots and hears them exclaim, “That is the best picture I have ever had taken!”
The studio’s motto is “Excellence Every Day,” and John’s parents impressed upon him the importance of consistently exceeding expectations. He was brought up by frugal and extremely wise parents in a family of five children, and he was taught to go the distance and realize that every client is spending their hard-earned dollars to trust him to provide content for their business. He wants to ensure they receive exactly what they need, and his goal is to always go beyond that.
